The Zero Point

Science Fiction

What would you do if the impossible became real?
What if you saw something in the sky that should not exist?
What if ancient myths and forgotten stories concealed truths beneath the surface?

Would you accept the universe is far stranger than anyone ever imagined? Or deny what you saw and cling to a dying sense of reality?

PROFESSOR NAHUSHAH SHUKLA, a fiercely sceptical scientist from the IISc, is drawn into a world of uncertainty when he is invited aboard the aircraft carrier Vikramaditya to explain a series of disturbing sightings reported by its crew. But what begins as a straightforward investigation soon pulls Shukla into something far beyond science, logic, or reason.

Will Shukla seek refuge in a safe, cozy life, or will he risk everything, placing himself in the path of danger to become the saviour of the world?

Come in. From the moment you turn that first page, the very fabric of reality begins to unravel. Read Sample

LIM : At the limits of reality

Science Fiction Anthology • 4 Short Stories

From the decks of an Indian aircraft carrier to the heart of the Ladakh wilderness, and beyond. Four stories to tests the limits of reality.

  • The dream of space travel faces a vast challenge. "Echoes" explores a near-future drug meant for hibernation, but it unlocks something unexpected within the human mind, blurring reality's lines.
  • Venture into the vast, untamed wilderness of Alaska, where an Indian-American scientist, seeking solace and connection with nature, stumbles upon a legend long dismissed as myth. The elusive "Big Foot".
  • In "Phenomenon", Professor Shukla, a fiercely sceptical scientist, is thrust into a world of uncertainty when he's invited aboard the Vikramaditya to provide a rational explanation for a series of unsettling sightings reported by the crew. Shukla finds his convictions challenged in a way he never anticipated.
  • Finally in "Exodus", witness the dawn of a new computing paradigm. A dire necessity, its mother. These advanced machines, exhibiting unprecedented levels of self-awareness and sentience, challenge the very definition of humanity, forcing us to consider the implications.

Combining rigorous scientific exploration with the power of myth and mystery, this anthology offers a unique perspective on the future. A future that is both exhilarating, terrifying, and well within reach. Read Sample

Works-in-progress

NULL : Where reality ends

Science Fiction Anthology • 3 Short Stories

Currently a work in progress, this will be my second science fiction anthology. The stories exist, for now, only as outlines scattered across my laptop. Scroll to the top and subscribe to my newsletter if you want to be kept updated on the developments.

The Immortal

Science Fiction

The weight of the murders pressed upon Ashwatthama not as a curse, but as a profound stillness. He hadn't been damned to an endless, agonizing existence; he had been asked to wait. The world moved on, generations rose and fell, while he remained. Despair fuelled his wandering, a bitter echo of the loss and the horror he had unleashed. He sought solace in forgotten temples, studying scriptures, seeking understanding in the philosophies he previously dismissed as weakness. Follow the story of Ashwatthama after the events of the great Kurukshetra war, in "The Immortal"
This was the first story I wanted to tell, a tentative sketch in the wilderness of blank pages. Before this, there was only the echo of stories I couldn't yet shape. It lives currently as an outline, a half-formed dream. Yet, in charting that initial, clumsy path, I found something unexpected; a seed of courage, a fragile hope that I might, eventually, learn to speak with words.

The Last One

Science Fiction

This novel, tentatively titled "The Last One", continues the journey of "The Immortal" from the previous book, bringing his story to a final conclusion.

About Me

Beyond the terminal and the compiler, I've always been drawn to stories, especially those that challenge our understanding of reality. These stories, both published and currently in the works, were born from a quiet hunger. I wrote them because I could not find them elsewhere, these are the tales I yearned to read. They are, in many ways, fragments of longing brought to life. As Sharadh Jaitra, I explore these fascinations through science fiction, weaving together technical understanding with philosophical inquiry.

And if you came here, looking for Sharma Radhakrishna, Yes. That's also me. I'm a software developer with over 25 years of experience building systems, solving complex problems, and turning abstract concepts into functional reality. And did I mention, I am a certified Guidewire developer. My journey through code has been one of constant learning and evolution.
